Art and Design at Grove

At Grove, Art and Design gives children the opportunity to explore, create and express themselves through drawing, painting, printing, sculpture and mixed media. Across the school, pupils study a wide range of artists, including Matisse, Bridget Riley, Picasso, Cézanne, Monet, Barbara Hepworth and Magdalene Odundo, helping them to appreciate different styles, cultures and artistic traditions. Children develop their technical skills progressively, learning to look closely, experiment with materials, discuss their ideas and evaluate their work with increasing confidence. Through art, we encourage creativity, resilience and pride in producing individual and meaningful pieces.
