History at Grove

Autumn 2026

History at Grove helps children understand how people, places and events from the past have shaped the world we live in today. Pupils explore local, national and world history, including toys from the past, the Great Fire of London, the Stone Age to Iron Age, Ancient Greece, the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, Early Islamic civilisation, Victorian Britain, Ancient Egypt, World War Two and significant changes in the local area. Children learn to use evidence, compare periods of time, think critically and ask questions about cause, consequence and legacy. Our history curriculum helps pupils develop a strong sense of identity, chronology and curiosity about the past.
